It was the first time, and it wouldn’t be the last….

Recently there has been a few “Facebook” challenges going around, and normally I skip out on most of them. Posting the first picture of you and your significant other, then a recent one. This time around I knew the participation would show something really special. My husband and I didn’t have a traditional start to our relationship. It was fast… rushed. Like any teenage romance filled with drama and hopes to a new life. We knew we had something together but we were both young or as most people call it… Puppy Love?  Continue reading

WIP Backyard!

Going into purchasing our first home one of the must haves was a yard. With two little boys they had to have a place for themselves (besides their rooms of course!) The moment we moved in we already had plans for our area. We want to enjoy as many days outside this year! Continue reading

Mod Podge is Dangerous…

Let me break it down for you…

  1.  Go into the store to buy some Mod Podge… you are already setting yourself up for hours and hours of finding things to Mod Podge.
  2. Once you finally find it in the store you realize that even if you buy the smallest one you will have so much extra. (Then back to part 1)
  3. Now that you have done step 1 & 2 then 1 again, you have to find ways to use up ALL the Mod Podge so what’s better than to jump onto Pinterest while standing in the middle of JoAnn’s.
  4. After about 15 minutes of standing in front of the Mod Podge stand; frantically scrolling through the DIY & Crafts (because lets be honest here, its Mommies time away from the house and tacking on a extra 15 minutes for some solace sounds like a win to me) results in the mindset of just MOD PODGING ALL THE THINGS!!!!

The Days of our Analog Life

I must admit; I am a bibliophile. Give me a book, ill read it. Physical copy, e-reader copy, heck I will even read it on the computer but when did going to the library become a hassle? Comparatively, I would grab an old musty book off the shelves while standing in the long narrow rows of other old dusty books covered in finger prints and stains. These books have personality! They have a legacy that you will never know if you didn’t open it up. There is nothing like the smell of a library stocked with books, bottle that up and sell it by the jar! Continue reading

It’s Dangerous to go Alone…

Take…. a nap! For Mothers Day my hubby surprised me with this…

I have been eyeing this headboard from Our Nerd Home for a while now (BTW check them out if you are into nerdy decor) and I guess he has been watching my browser history. Continue reading

Pure Wonder

I have often questioned how the world looks through my son’s eyes. I know I have been there before and had the filter of a child but we forget these moments, never to see like this again. You can’t touch it or recreate it.  Pure excitement, joy, wonder. The size of buildings shrink, new places become common, things that shone before are lackluster. I presume nothing compares like being three years old inside of a huge aquarium full fish. The joy it brings him is pure, untouched by the horrors of this world. Continue reading

Our Art Wall

I love when my kids bring home artwork from school or on a rainy Saturday sitting at the table just letting their little minds explode with worlds far away and monsters who reside in the darkest corners of the mind. Just seeing what they come up with, what stories they tell and watching them grow and learn from it makes it better.

Super Powers

We all have names, titles, circles that people like to place us into. The “overachiever” Mom, The “Pinterest” Mom, The “Perfect” Mom, The “I’m a mess” Mom. We all have heard them and there are plenty more. As Mom’s we should stand up and break the chains that hold us in places. Sure, you make your kids cute little bento boxes for lunch and make sure they eat clean, fresh foods. That’s your super power.

Then this Mom who places her time with the kids outside. Making sure they are at all the sporting events, play dates, birthday parties but skips out on the “clean eating” area and just throws frozen pizzas, crock pot meals or Fast Food on the table after a long day of being out with her kids. That’s her super power.

Then you have the Mom’s who post pictures on some form of social media.. everything in place, super clean, everything perfect… perfect kids, perfect life, perfect home.. That’s her super power.

Hello.

Man, do I have the time to sit and write out words. Probably not. I mean just yesterday while I was doing laundry the youngest decided it’s the best time to hit the emergency button on our alarm system just to see the firetrucks I assume… but, here I sit. Trying to start something for myself.

I have all kinds of thoughts, ideas and just ramblings that I COULD post about but let’s be honest… would you want to read whats already going through your mind. I’m just your everyday married stay-at-home mom with dreams bigger than her budget. Continue reading
